Don and I met the first week of my freshman year (he was a junior) at Glee Club and the chapel. Our first date was in October ‘99, and the rest I suppose is history. We led music weekly at the chapel (along with two of our best friends and fellow StagMates Mark Beyerly ‘95 and Sandy Beyerly ‘02), both were presidents of the Glee Club our senior years, served as freshman facilitators together (and were named facilitators of the year!), and were both music majors studying under Drs Laura Nash and Carole Ann Maxwell. We were married in 2007 with many of our closest Fairfield Alumni and Faculty friends by our sides - we cantored a Psalm that we led back in our Glee Club/chapel choir days. 20 and 18 years post-graduation and no matter the distance, our closest friends are fellow Stags, 13/14 of one particular group, making 6/7 couples Stagmates! It makes me smile to know that there were some reasons why neither of us should have chosen ¶¶Òô»ÆƬapp, but the Lord’s plan is perfect even when we can’t see it - though this one is easy to see in hindsight! We continue to serve together at our current church and are raising our 3 boys to also love and serve the Lord. We are both very happy in our careers that Fairfield helped set a foundation for.
