Women's Basketball Earns First-Ever Top 25 National Ranking

For the first time in program history, Janelle Brown '24 and teammates are among this week's AP Top 25.

The Stags have won 25 consecutive games.

On the heels of a 25-game winning streak, ¶¶Òô»ÆƬapp Women’s Basketball has earned a place in the Associated Press Top 25. The Stags checked in at #25 this week – their first-ever appearance in the national polls. At 27-1 overall and 19-0 in the MAAC, Fairfield has locked up the MAAC Regular Season Championship and top seed in the upcoming MAAC Tournament.

¶¶Òô»ÆƬapp is only the fourth MAAC program to earn a place in the AP Top 25, joining Marist (2008, 2009, 2011), Saint Peter’s (1986) and former MAAC institution La Salle (1988, 1989).

"This is a momentous occasion for our program," Head Coach Carly Thibault-DuDonis said. "I came to Fairfield knowing it was a special place — with the infrastructure, the support from the top, and incredible people — that was set up to be in the national conversation every season... We are grateful that our consistency has been rewarded by the voters and we're going to keep working hard so that today isn't a crescendo, but rather a launching point to even bigger accomplishments."

Only in her second year at the helm, “Coach Carly” made an on March 6 to highlight the Stags’ success. Fairfield was also selected as the .

The Fairfield women's basketball team has already set a single-season program record with 27 wins. The Stags’ 25-game win streak is also a new program standard and is the second-longest active streak in the nation behind unbeaten #1 South Carolina. The Fairfield streak was built against opponents representing seven different conferences, including the Big Ten, Big East, and Atlantic-10.

The Stags will conclude the regular season at the Leo D. Mahoney Arena this Saturday, March 9. Fairfield will celebrate Senior Day prior to the 2 p.m. tip-off with Rider. Tickets are on sale now at .
