Register to Run: Fairfield Road Races, June 3 & 4

Lil’ Stags Kids Fun Run

¶¶Òô»ÆƬapp is a proud sponsor of the annual MJP Wealth Advisors Fairfield Road Races. There are races for all ages and all levels of runners with the Half Marathon and 5K, Lucas Challenge, and Lil’ Stags Kids Fun Run.

During the first weekend in June, the region’s running community will reconvene at Fairfield’s Jennings Beach for three annual road races: a 5K and Lil’ Stags Kids Fun Run on Saturday, June 3, and the signature MJP Wealth Advisors Fairfield Half Marathon on Sunday, June 4.

The fun begins on Saturday, June 3, at 8 a.m., for the start of the fast and flat shoreline 5K (3.1 miles). The 5K will be followed by the Lil’ Stags Kids Fun Run at 9 a.m., hosted by ¶¶Òô»ÆƬapp. Children will be greeted by Lucas the Stag, the University’s mascot, who will cheer them on as they race to the finish of the ½-mile route.

The following day, on Sunday, June 4, the signature half marathon will start at Jennings Beach at 8 a.m., featuring a scenic course that traverses the shorelines of Fairfield, Southport, and Westport.

In addition to each individual race, there are two challenges offered on race weekend: The Lucas Challenge and Police & Fire Challenge.

The Lucas Challenge invites runners to complete both the 5K and half marathon race, for a two-day, two-race combined distance of 16.2 miles. Runners who complete the Lucas Challenge will be issued a custom-colored bib and will receive a can of Bollicini Sparkling Wine. They will also be awarded a special medal at the completion of the Half Marathon.

The Police/Fire Division Challenge pits departments from different towns against each other, in team and and individual competitions, for both the 5K & half marathon. In the team competition, the top 3 finishers on each team score. Awards will be presented to the top 3 teams and top 3 individuals in the Police/Fire Division. Participants must be a current or retired police officer or firefighter.
