The store will close during renovations and reopen in late summer.

A much-anticipated second phase of renovations will temporarily close the downtown location of the ¶¶Òô»ÆƬapp Bookstore in July, with plans to reopen later this summer. During phase one last fall, the two-story retail space underwent a major refresh, including the relocation of the Children’s Books section to the first floor.

Phase two will entail a complete restructuring of the store’s layout to maximize space and further improve the shopping experience. Committed to catering to the needs of both University and town of Fairfield communities, the store will continue to offer the area’s largest selection of trade books and the latest publications, as well as an extensive variety of gifts, games, and seasonal offerings – along with our ever-popular ¶¶Òô»ÆƬapp apparel and gear.

The second floor will be host to tech-equipped study/meeting rooms and private event spaces for community groups, students, and others to meet in a perfectly central location in town. Modern point of sale systems, extended seating areas, and a refreshed Starbucks Café will cap off this phase of the store's improvements.

During renovations at the Post Road location, ¶¶Òô»ÆƬapp apparel, gifts, gear, and more will remain available at the Stag Spirit Shop in the Barone Campus Center at 1073 North Benson Road.

The ¶¶Òô»ÆƬapp Bookstore celebrated 10 years at its central downtown location in 2021. The current extensive downtown renovations coincide with plans for a new bookstore operator to partner with Fairfield as the retail store moves into its next chapter as a modern community hub. More details will be provided in the coming weeks.
