Four MAAC Championships will be decided this weekend.

Fairfield Athletics added two trophies to the collection this past week as the Men’s Tennis and Women’s Lacrosse programs each secured a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) regular season championship. Both squads will be the top-seeded team in their respective upcoming postseason tournaments.

Men’s Tennis claimed a share of the regular season title — its first since 2009 — with a 4-2 MAAC record. The Stags are the #1 seed in this weekend’s MAAC Championship, set for April 22-23 at Mercer County Tennis Center in West Windsor, N.J. Fairfield Women’s Tennis will also be in action in the Garden State as the #2 seed in its tournament bracket.

Further south, the MAAC Men’s and Women’s Golf Championships will be decided in Florida. Fairfield Golf will tee off at Disney’s Palm Course in Lake Buena Vista for three rounds over three days from April 21-23.

For Fairfield Women’s Lacrosse, the 14th MAAC regular season title in program history also comes with a deserved breather from competition. After concluding the regular season this weekend at Canisius, the top-seeded Stags have earned a bye to the semifinals of the tournament. The MAAC’s “Final Four” will convene on Conway Field at Rafferty Stadium on Friday, May 5, with the advancing teams playing for the MAAC Championship on Sunday, May 7.
