Move-In Day and Fall Welcome Kick Off Academic Year

Campus was "painted red" in a sea of balloons as Lucas and the Spirit Squad welcomed the Class of 2026 and transfer students to Stag Country this past weekend.

More than 1,300 first-year and transfer students officially began their journey here at Fairfield on Saturday, September 3. Lucas the Stag and the Spirit Squad enthusiastically greeted incoming students and their families as they arrived on campus. Volunteers including staff from across the University, new student leaders, resident assistants, FUSA, and student-athletes joined forces to assist the newest Stags and their families.

"Move-in day is always a special day at Fairfield. Our entire community came together to welcome the Class of 2026 and our Transfer students to campus, including faculty, staff, student leaders, and alumni," said Director of Student Engagement Jeremy Kaler. "It was great to see the new students and their families relaxing in the Quad at the BBQ and coming together for the President's Welcome and Mass of the Holy Spirit."

During the weekend, students were able to participate in a variety of events. From sunset bingo on the Library Lawn, to QuadFest, to athletic games — there were entertaining activities to help student acclimate to Stag Country.
