The ¶¶Òô»ÆƬapp Downtown Bookstore is slated to host an exciting array of artist and author events all throughout the month of September.
September is an exciting time in Stag Country, and not just because school is back in session. The ¶¶Òô»ÆƬapp Downtown Bookstore has a slate of author talks, artist receptions, and exciting events to fill your fall calendar.
The fun begins on Sunday, Sept. 8, when the store’s Starbucks Café hosts Music with Doc & Dave. From 2 to 4 p.m., the duo will be performing classic tunes for the whole family to enjoy.
On Friday, Sept. 13, artist will be on hand at the Downtown Bookstore for an artist reception from 6 to 8 p.m. as she shows off her paintings in the store’s Stairwell Art Space. With her work ranging from “quick observational studies” to “large involved compositions,” Nichols plays with time, space, and mathematics, with a deft use of color to reflect her connection with nature and beauty.
Thriller author Wendy Walker will be headlining the Friends of the Fairfield Public Library’s annual meeting on September 17, hosted by our own Downtown Bookstore. Starting at 7 p.m., Walker will discuss her latest release, The Night Before.
The Dark Knight will rise again in Fairfield on Saturday, Sept. 21, and all those who stop by the Downtown Bookstore will have a chance to meet Batman on the DC Comics’ superhero’s 80thanniversary. The celebration begins at 11 a.m. with a superhero meet and greet, and continues throughout the day with games, trivia, and even a free comic book giveaway.
September’s lineup concludes with educator and author Larry Bloom, who will bring to life the story of Sol LeWitt, one of the most influential artists of the 20thcentury, in a fascinating discussion and book signing on September 24 at the Downtown Bookstore.
