Important Updates to Commencement Weekend 2020

Further details and instructions on Commencement Weekend 2020 will follow early in the new year.

The fall semester is well underway, and plans for 2020 Commencement Weekend are already in progress. This year, there will be a few important updates to the Commencement Weekend schedule; while further details and instruction will follow early in 2020, outlined here are changes to major events for the weekend. 

Graduate Commencement – New Date: In an effort to best serve graduate students and their families, the Graduate Commencement ceremony will take place on Saturday, May 16, 2020 at 9:30 a.m. on the Bellarmine Lawn. The inclement weather location will be the Field House of the Leslie C. Quick Recreational Complex.

Undergraduate Commencement – New Weather Contingency Plan: Undergraduate Commencement will take place on Sunday, May 17, 2020 at 9:30 a.m. on the Bellarmine Lawn. With the anticipation of Alumni Hall being off-line due to construction, the inclement weather plan is as follows: 

  • At 9:30 a.m., Commencement ceremonies for the College of Arts and Sciences and the Marion Peckham Egan School of Nursing and Health Studies will be conducted in the Leslie C. Quick Recreational Complex, Field House.
  • At 1:30 p.m., Commencement ceremonies for the Charles F. Dolan School of Business and the School of Engineering will be conducted in the Field House of the Leslie C. Quick Recreational Complex.

Undergraduate Baccalaureate Masses: Baccalaureate Masses will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2020 at 4:00 p.m. In order to accommodate all students and families:

  • Students and their guests from the College of Arts and Sciences and the Charles F. Dolan School of Business will attend Baccalaureate Mass in the Field House of the Leslie C. Quick Recreational Complex.
  • Students and their guests from the Marion Peckham Egan School of Nursing and Health Studies and the School of Engineering will attend Mass in the Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts.
