The Robert E. Wall Award Lecture is an annual Fairfield tradition that celebrates faculty members for scholarly research and artistic creativity. This year, the University community will come together to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Robert E. Wall Award with a lecture delivered by Wall Award Scholar, Kris Sealey, PhD, associate professor of philosophy and director of black studies. The lecture will take place on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at 4 p.m. in the Barone Campus Center Oak Room followed by a reception.

“Academic excellence is a hallmark of ¶¶Òô»ÆƬapp’s Catholic Jesuit educational mission,” said Jocelyn M. Boryczka, PhD, associate vice provost for scholarly, creative, and community engagement. “Our faculty research projects offer clear evidence of how we pursue this mission in diverse ways.”

Dr. Sealey will present her work, “Creolizing the Nation: A Poetics and Politics of ‘Community’ Otherwise.”

“My work turns to the process of creolization in order to propose an alternative frame for organizing national community,” said Dr. Sealey.

All students, faculty, staff, and Fairfield community members are invited to attend the lecture and reception. For additional information, please contact the Office of the Provost.
