Dean of the School of Engineering, Richard Heist, PhD

This fall, the ¶¶Òô»ÆƬapp School of Engineering welcomed four new faculty members.

A Note From Dean Richard Heist, PhD:

As dean of the School of Engineering, it is always a pleasure to welcome new individuals into the ranks of our faculty.  It is even more gratifying when these new faculty members are part of a growing cadre of scholar-teachers who will play a fundamental role in supporting the new vision and strategic direction for our School of Engineering.

The convergence of engineering with biology, data science, artificial intelligence, and nanomaterials is fueling growth areas in applied research and industry collaboration for 21st century engineers.  This convergence is the basis of our vision for the School of Engineering – it shapes the way we prepare our students to play leadership roles, and it shapes the growth and direction of our expanding applied research efforts.

The School of Engineering at ¶¶Òô»ÆƬapp is on a solid growth path in terms of students, academic programs, faculty, applied research, and academic reputation.  We have risen to the Top 75 in national, non-doctoral, engineering rankings in just three years.  It is a good time to be part of the School of Engineering, and these four new faculty will help fuel that continued growth:
