Last Chance: Nov. 16, to Learn More About the Fairfield StartUp Showcase

Students in the classroom

Students from all majors are encouraged to attend the Business Model Workshop on Saturday, Nov. 16, to develop their startup ideas and claim a spot in the qualifier round.

What is the Fairfield StartUp Showcase?

The Showcase is Fairfield’s “Shark Tank”-style entrepreneurship competition. Students negotiate live with investors for seed money to start their businesses. This year’s Showcase will take place on April 23, 2020.

How do I participate?

Teams compete for a spot in the Showcase at the qualifiers on December 11, 2019. Coming out of the qualifier round, four teams are selected to pitch at the Showcase.

Students who participate in the Fairfield StartUp program work with alumni and local business mentors to hone their business ideas and work on pitch presentation skills. After developing their business proposals further during the spring semester, teams take to the stage in April for the live event.

Who can enter?

Students from all majors and fields are welcome. Students are not required to be business students to participate. In fact, students with diverse backgrounds in creative fields or technology are encouraged to participate.

What If I want to compete but don’t have an idea?

Students are invited to join teams with existing business ideas. The best place to do this is at our Business Model Workshop on November 16.

I’m in! What’s next?

Attend our Business Model Workshop to join a team, recruit teammates, network with mentors, and present your business plan.

This event is required for all students interested in competing in the Showcase Qualifiers.
