Stags Shine in the Classroom in Fall 2018 Semester

Fairfield student-athletes recorded a collective 3.29 grade-point average.

I am thrilled that so many of our student-athletes have continued to rise to that challenge and meet that standard of excellence in the classroom.

— Director of Athletics Paul Schlickmann

¶¶Òô»ÆƬapp student-athletes completed another strong semester in the classroom this past fall. As a whole, the Stags’ 454 student-athletes aggregated a 3.29 grade-point average for the fall 2018 semester.

“Academic success is paramount to our mission in the department of athletics,” said Director of Athletics Paul Schlickmann. “I am thrilled that so many of our student-athletes have continued to rise to that challenge and meet that standard of excellence in the classroom.”

Fairfield’s 3.29 GPA was bolstered by 344 student-athletes (77%) who earned a 3.0 semester GPA or higher. That number includes the 189 men and women who claimed a place on the ¶¶Òô»ÆƬapp Dean’s List with GPAs of 3.5 or better, and the 20 Stags who earned perfect 4.0 GPAs for the fall semester.

Earlier in the fall semester, it was announced that Fairfield student-athletes earned a 97 percent graduation success rate in the most recent NCAA report. That number was the highest in the MAAC (tied with Manhattan College) and rated Fairfield among the top 24 Division I institutions in the nation.
