Kaley McMullen ’19 (field hockey), Sydney Williams ’19 (volleyball), and Lauren Kearney ’19 (cheerleading) were welcomed into Phi Beta Kappa, while Jamie Calandro ’20 (volleyball) was inducted into Sigma Tau Delta.

"Congratulations to all of the recent inductees into Phi Beta Kappa and Sigma Tau Delta, especially our four student-athletes," said Director of Athletics Paul Schlickmann. "It is no small feat to receive this prestigious recognition under any circumstance. But coupling the dedication it takes to achieve at such a high level academically with the commitments of being a student-athlete is truly a remarkable accomplishment."

The Phi Beta Kappa Society is the oldest and most widely recognized national academic honor society in the United States. Students are chosen on the basis of their broad cultural interests, scholarly achievement, and good character. All have demonstrated outstanding work in the liberal arts.

Sigma Tau Delta is the International English Honor Society. English majors with an overall GPA of 3.33 or higher are inducted to this prestigious honor society.
