Nineteen Home Games at Rafferty Stadium Highlight Fairfield Lacrosse Spring Schedules

Action Comes to Campus Beginning in February 2019

A total of 19 home games are set to be played on Conway Field at Rafferty Stadium this season, as the Fairfield Men’s and Women’s Lacrosse schedules were revealed this week. The men will host nine opponents on their home turf this spring while the women will challenge 10 visiting squads.

Fairfield Men’s Lacrosse opens its 2019 campaign at Rafferty Stadium on Saturday, Feb. 16 with a visit from Saint Joseph’s. The home portion of the slate also features Rutgers, Georgetown, Utah, and Villanova, with the road schedule highlighted by trips to Sacred Heart, Drexel, and UMass.

"We look forward to continuing some of our traditional rivalries as well as adding several new opponents on our 2019 schedule," said men's head coach Andy Copelan. "We believe that this schedule will be a challenge for our team, an entertaining and engaging collection of games for our fans and – most importantly – will prepare us to compete for a CAA Championship."

The reigning Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Champions from Fairfield Women’s Lacrosse play their first of 10 home games on Wednesday, Feb. 13 against in-state foe UConn. The Stags will also host Denver – a Big East Finalist and NCAA Championship qualifier last spring – along with Columbia, Hofstra, New Hampshire, and Sacred Heart in the non-conference slate. Fairfield visits Holy Cross and Boston University before delving into MAAC play. The complete 2019 Fairfield Women’s Lacrosse schedule is .

“Our focus for out of conference play continues to be preparing our team for the rigors of the MAAC by playing the best competition possible,” women's head coach Laura Field said. “We continue to challenge our squad with opponents from traditionally strong conferences such as the Big East, CAA, Ivy League, and Patriot League, leading into the always competitive MAAC season.”
