¶¶Òô»ÆƬapp’s Academic & Career Development Center hosted its annual Fall Career and Internship Fair with 745 students and 123 employers in attendance.
It's not surprising that Fairfield has risen to #1 Best Regional University in the North in the annual U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges 2019 ranking when you see the excitement at the University's annual Career, Internship & Non-profit Fair. The Fair is an opportunity for students to network and interact with potential employers, and this year was Fairfield’s most broad selection of organizations across majors.
The Career, Internship & Non-profit Fair was a wildly successful event, with 123 employers in attendance and 745 eager students ready to pitch their 30-second commercial to potential employers. There were also a number of alumni thrilled to return to Fairfield and share their career experience with the students, including Eileen Plaehn ’18 of Thermo Fisher Scientific. Eileen said, “As a graduate of the Class of 2018, it was exciting to be at the Career Fair on the other side of the table. It was rewarding to be able to offer insight to bright attendees about post-grad life and the available opportunities at Thermo Fisher Scientific. Fairfield prepared me to speak confidently and engage in conversation with individuals from varying disciplines. I look forward to seeing where the next class of graduates will begin their careers!”
Some of the organizations in attendance included Epsilon, Ernst & Young, ¶¶Òô»ÆƬapp Graduate Admission, HooplaHa, Indeed.com, KPMG, Morgan Stanley, Prosek Partners, PwC, Insight Global, Save the Children, and Synchrony.
At the Fair, senior Lauren Kearney was looking for where she might begin her career after graduation. “The Career Fair was a big eye opener of how many amazing opportunities that Fairfield offers its students. Speaking with the organizations and representatives from various companies calmed me down by letting me know that there are a ton of great career paths for graduating seniors to consider.”
The employers are always blown away by the professionalism and caliber of ¶¶Òô»ÆƬapp students. Amanda Welch of Subway stated, “It was great to be back on campus for the Career Fair and see all of the enhancements that have been made recently. I enjoyed reconnecting with some familiar faces as well as interacting with the new wave of Stags who are eager for job opportunities – their passion would fit right in at Team Subway!”
