Fairfield Men’s Basketball Tips Off With Wagner at 1 p.m.
Fairfield Men’s Basketball will welcome Wagner to Webster Bank Arena on Saturday afternoon for a 1 p.m. contest. The game is the kickoff to the 2018 Fairfield Athletics Hall of Fame ceremony, which will take place on campus at 5 p.m.
After opening the 2018-19 campaign in matchups against three of last March's NCAA postseason qualifiers -- Purdue, Bucknell and LIU Brooklyn, Head Coach Sydney Johnson’s Stags face another tough test on Saturday with reigning Northeast Conference Regular Season Champion, the Wagner Seahawks. Fairfield has been led on the court by 14.7 points per game from Neftali Alvarez ’22 – the reigning MAAC Rookie of the Week – and 8.3 points and 5.7 rebounds per contest from captain Jonathan Kasibabu ’19.
Tickets for Saturday afternoon’s game are on sale now at . Admission is free for ¶¶Òô»ÆƬapp students, faculty, and staff with a StagCard. A free student shuttle will run between Alumni Hall and Webster Bank Arena beginning at 6 p.m. through the conclusion of the game.
At halftime, Fairfield Athletics will recognize its newest class of Hall of Famers: Michael O’Keeffe ’13 (men’s soccer), Colin Kiley ’71 (men’s rugby), Katie Mann ’10 (volleyball), Tim Malay ’94 (ice hockey), Lauren Thomas ’04 (field hockey), the 1972-73 men’s basketball team, and the 2000-01 women’s basketball team.
