At this year's Fairfield Awards Dinner (FAD) in New York City, the young alumni (classes 2008-2017) presence will be strong in an effort to promote Fairfield's 30-year tradition of the event, which raises funds for several scholarships.
“FAD is an invaluable opportunity to network,” said Maddy Malloy '17, a young alumni member of the FAD committee . “There are Stags in every occupational field, and it’s a really exciting opportunity to hear about what fellow classmates are out there doing and potentially connect with each other for future collaborations.”
The 2017 awards dinner raised more than $1 million for scholarships with young alumni and students helping to bring the celebration to thousands online.
“This year, our interactive “magic mirror” photo booth and Vineyard Vines social giveaway will not only be highlighting the generosity of our community online,” said Eric Mayrhofer ’10, social media marketing manager at Fairfield, “but will also showcase the camaraderie and fun that can be had while providing scholarship funds for future Stags .”
Many of Fairfield’s alumni are the first in their families to attend college and come from diverse social and economic backgrounds. And many of our alumni were only able to attend our University because generosity towards Fairfield made it financially possible.
“ Supporting scholarship at ¶¶Òô»ÆƬapp is something that is extremely important, and being a recent grad, it's something I can relate to even more,” Malloy continued. “As I look back on my time at Fairfield, I feel extremely lucky, and if there is a way to help other students have the great memories and experiences that I had, it’s definitely worth it. It's just an all-around, feel-good night every year.”
