Catch The Lightning Thief at the Quick on April 15

Rick Riordan’s best-selling YA novel comes to magical, musical life in TheatreworksUSA’s stage adaptation at ¶¶Òô»ÆƬapp’s Quick Center for the Arts on Sunday, April 15.

As the first book in the beloved Percy Jackson series, The Lightning Thief has taken millions of children and young adults along on Percy’s adventures to save Mount Olympus. Renowned children’s theatre company TheatreworksUSA delivers a musical performance of The Lightning Thief that is action-packed, full of fun, and sure to bring the whole family into a world of mythical imagination.

Percy Jackson is a boarding school kid who’s been having some strange run-ins with mythological monsters… and now, some of the Greek gods are suspicious that Percy may have stolen Zeus’ master lightning bolt. Percy must go on a quest to find -- and return -- Zeus’ most important possession, in order to bring peace to Mount Olympus. He has ten days to succeed, and during this time he will come face to face with riddles, villainous creatures, and epic battles.

The highly acclaimed original version of The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical was brought to New York City by TheatreworksUSA in 2014, and later brought back for a limited run in 2017. TheatreworksUSA has been providing professional theatre for family audiences since 1961. Its mission is to not only to put on quality performances, but also to ensure theatre exposure to disadvantaged young people and under-served communities. The company tours about 16 shows every season with an impressive group of talented performers.

This family fun event at the Quick will be followed by post-show refreshments for all to enjoy in the lobby. The performance is sponsored by The Westport Inn and WSHU.
