Record Turnout at This Year's Annual Career and Internship Fair

¶¶Òô»ÆƬapp’s Academic & Career Development Center hosted its largest ever Fall Career and Internship Fair with 781 students and 130 companies in attendance.

I remember coming to the Career Fair as a student and it really helped get my foot in the door, and I look forward to doing that for other Fairfield students.

It's not surprising that ¶¶Òô»ÆƬapp has been cited by the New York Times, College Factual and US News & World Report , among others, as having a variety of strong student outcomes, when you see the excitement at the University's annual Career, Internship & Non-profit Fair. "The Fair is a valuable opportunity for students to meet and network with employers. Companies in attendance represented various industry sectors, including accounting, finance, marketing, engineering, medical health, consumer products, graduate programs, and non-profit organizations," reported Deirdre Bennett, manager of employer development at the Academic & Career Development Center. It is no secret that events like this help ¶¶Òô»ÆƬapp earn the distinction of Best Value College as our graduates were noted for having the "Second highest starting salaries in Connecticut", in 2017 by SmartAsset.

“The Career, Internship & Non-profit Fair was such a successful event. We had over 135 employers, with many alumni and non-profit organizations represented. We also had a great student turnout from all class years and majors," stated Bennett. "Employers were very impressed with the professionalism of our students and many students said they had valuable conversations about careers, job and internship opportunities.” With 96% of the Class of 2016 securing full-time employment, enrolling in a graduate or professional school or participating in a service program within six months of graduation, this fair plays a pivotol role in the University's student outcomes.

Some of the organizations in attendance included Epsilon, Ernst & Young, ¶¶Òô»ÆƬapp Graduate Admission, Gartner, Indeed.com, KPMG, Lillian August Design, PwC, Make-A-Wish, RightClick, Save the Children, Subway World Headquarters, Terex Corporation, Urban Impact, and WWE.

At the Fair, student Alexia O'Brien ‘21 was looking for internship opportunities. The Career Fair was definitely an amazing experience to be a part of and showed me there are so many internships available. The event was so beneficial and rewarding. I look forward to my future! All of the opportunities Fairfield offers all students is incredible.

Every year, many alumni and companies return to campus for the Career Fair, which shows the caliber of Fairfield students. Danielle Masterson ’15 of KPMG stated, “Being at the Career Fair brings everything full circle. We know how to help the students and answer questions because we were all in the same shoes.” Danielle continued, “I remember coming to the Career Fair as a student and it really helped to get my foot in the door, and I look forward to doing that for other Fairfield students.”

Don’t forget about the Job Shadow Program:

It’s never too early to start thinking about Fairfield’s Job Shadow program.
