Financial Skills for Students: “Money Talks” Workshop Series

Financial planning workshops for all class years and majors starts September 19.

The Dolan School of Business Professional Development Series (PDS) will kick off on Tuesday, September 19 with “Money Talks: Financial Planning for College Students and New Graduates.” The host of the seminar is Scott Brenner, adjunct professor of Accounting and managing partner at Dylewsky, Goldberg & Brenner, LLC.

“The Money Talks program really surpassed our expectations last year because I think it struck a nerve with our student body’s concern about personal finances,” said Brenner.  “I am so proud of what we have accomplished so far and I look forward to continuing the Jesuit values of c ura personalis at Fairfield through expanding this program to other parts of the University and potentially offering more financial literacy opportunities to students.”

Topics covered will include saving for retirement, budgeting, and managing debt. The seminar aims to provide current students and recent graduates with an understanding of money management, and give them knowledge that will help them in their life after Fairfield.

Current students should register for this event through and recent graduates should contact Sarah Bollinger , Director of Internships and Professional Development, to sign up. The seminar will be held in the Library Auditorium, room 101, at 6:30 p.m. For current students this event satisfies a DSB PDS Level 4 requirement.

Can't make the first seminar? Students will have additional opportunities to participate on October 19 and November 15, with additional seminars to be held during the spring semester.

This event is co-sponsored by the Dolan School of Business and School of Engineering.
