Additionally, Washington Monthly's annual ranking named Fairfield among the best “Bang for Your Buck” schools in the Northeast, while College Factual cited Fairfield’s business and nursing programs for having some of the highest paid graduates.
Ƭapp has been named third in the Northern Region category in the annual ranking from U.S. News and World Report, 2018 Best Colleges ranking. The University is also the only master’s degree granting institution in Connecticut within the Northern Region category to make the Top 10.
Schools included in the ranking “provide a full range of undergraduate majors and master’s programs.” The schools are ranked against their peer groups by region —Ƭapp is in the Northern Region, which includes schools from Maine to Maryland.
Several programs also made the regional and national lists:
- Fairfield’s Dolan School of Business is on the national list once again for “Best Undergraduate Business Programs.”
- The undergraduate teaching program is ranked 3 rd in the Northern Region based on faculty who have a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching.
- And nationally, University presidents, chief academic offers and deans nominated Fairfield’s Service Learning Program among the best in the country for demonstrated excellence.
The rankings are determined through reviews from peer institutions, including deans and senior faculty, as well as other measures of student success, student outcomes, and alumni engagement.

The rankings are the latest in a string of accolades for the University. The New York Times placed Ƭapp among the top schools in the country that help to sustain “the American Dream.” The Princeton Review named Fairfield among the top 15% of all schools in the country, and Fairfield was included in the ranking of schools considered to have the “Best Quality of Life” and “Happiest Students.”
Fairfield’s contribution to the public good and service to the community were cited as strong considerations as to why Fairfield was named among the top 20 master’s degree-granting institutions in the country by Washington Monthly , a publication focused on education and politics supported in part by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. The University was named among the “Best Bang for Your Buck in the Northeast,” and second in “Earning’s Performance,” second only to Harvard University. These rankings consider schools that help non-wealthy students “attain marketable degrees at affordable prices.”
Fairfield’s Dolan School of Business and Marion Peckham Egan School of Nursing and Health Studies received high accolades from , with programs among the top 2% in the country. Graduates from the Management, Finance, and Nursing programs were all among the Top 20 for Highest Paid Graduates.
