The Marion Peckham Egan School of Nursing and Health Studies is celebrating the new building and the professionals who improve the safety, effectiveness and efficiency of healthcare services during a series of events during the week of September 11-15. All events will be at the Egan School Simulation Center, third floor.

"We move forward into a new era of nursing education, joining schools of nursing across the country in developing and implementing innovative methods for educating students that rely heavily on simulation," stated Dean of the Egan School, Meredith Wallace Kazer PhD, APRN, FAAN. "Our new nursing and health studies building provides the ideal environment to embrace these new educational pedagogies which will ideally prepare nurses of the future."

In honor of National Healthcare Simulation Week, the Egan School will hold tours of the new facility on Monday and Tuesday, September 11 & 12. On Wednesday, September 13, students, faculty, and staff can experience a safety walk where they will explore the nursing facility in search of finding common medical errors. There will be prizes for the individuals who find the most errors. On Thursday, September 14, an escape room challenge will include teams of 4-6 participants to solve a series of puzzles using clues and strategy. All faculty, staff and students are invited to participate.

On Friday, September 15, the greater Fairfield community is invited to attend an ice cream social at 3 p.m. in honor of National Healthcare Simulation Week. This event is open to the public.
