Fairfield's study abroad programs are designed to take students out of their comfort zone and expose them to new cultures and a wealth of new learning opportunities.

¶¶Òô»ÆƬapp's Office of Study Abroad offers a wide range of study abroad opportunities for students including summer and faculty-led options. Summer programs provide opportunities for students who are unable to commit to a full semester or academic year abroad. The Office of Study Abroad knows that experiencing learning in a "live setting” is life-changing, and through these opportunities, studying abroad becomes more accessible to more students. Summer programs range from two to eight weeks, and students have the opportunity to study in Manyara, Tanzania; Aix-en-Provence, France; Berlin, Germany; Prague, Czech Republic; Madrid, Spain; St. Petersburg, Russia; Athens, Greece; Galway, Ireland; London, England; Buenos, Aires, Argentina, Sydney, Australia; Brisbane, Australia, and more.

The Faculty-Led Program option is an additional short-term study abroad opportunity for students to participate in. Faculty-Led opportunities increase students’ cultural understanding and support the Jesuit mission “to promote a sense of social    responsibility, making sure all students embrace and develop their full creative, intellectual potential.” The programs typically run 8-10 days. Faculty-led options for the summer include: HI 276 History of Russia in St. Petersburg, Russia, CO 326/497 Palliative Care in Galway Ireland, and NS 330 Public Health in Managua, Nicaragua.

Students must attend an Office of Study Abroad Information Session before applying for a study abroad program.

The 2018 Summer application is due February 15, 2018.
