First Year Students: Applications Now Open for Sophomore Success

FIRST YEAR STUDENTS - Wondering how you can get a jump on career preparation? The Academic and Career Development Center (ACDC) offers a program that will help you do just that.

Sophomore Success is a weekly seminar designed to cultivate the career development knowledge and skills of sophomores by providing them with a competitive advantage as they move into their junior year. The program is a weekly seminar class in which students are expected to attend each session.

Each week the Academic & Career Development Staff members cover a different career related to content based off of their students' majors and desired industry. Assessments have shown that students leave the program with a renewed sense of confidence as they begin the Career Development process. By the end of the semester each student will have:

  • First draft of a resume & cover letter (reviewed by a ACDC Career Counselor)
  • LinkedIn Profile
  • Completed a Mock Interview (either in-person or through InterviewStream)
  • Stags4Hire Profile
    • Job and Internship Search Skills
    • Interview Skills

  • Tuesday 2:00 - 3:30 p.m.
  • Wednesday 10:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
