Arts, Sports, and More! — Kids Summer Programs at Fairfield

The school year may be ending, but planning is underway for exciting summer programs at Fairfield. Starting June 26th, students of all ages can participate in a variety of activities including writing workshops, arts and athletic programs and summer classes.

ACADEMIC SUMMER PROGRAMS

Summer Writing Labs for Young Writers
Dates: June 26 – July 28
Age: Grades 3 – 12

Connecticut Writing Project (CWP) Summer Writing Labs host students at Fairfield for one-to-two week writing seminars. Lessons are designed to encourage young writers to find their voice, embrace literacy and enjoy writing. Writing Labs cover topics including poetry, college essay writing, novel and advocacy writing as well as new Labs in digital journalism and sports writing. All students have the opportunity to become published writers by submitting their work to be included in , an anthology printed each year. Visit the to register.

Summer Scholars Program
Dates:  July 9 – 22
Age: Rising high school juniors and seniors

Designed for high school students to get a real college experience, students select from courses in the sciences, arts, humanities and social sciences and experience campus life like an undergraduate student. Learning in small classroom environments led by expert faculty, students will receive three college transfer credits and live in the dorms on campus during their two-week stay. The program also offers opportunities to take part in service learning and discuss the college application process one-on-one with an academic advisor. Applications will be accepted until June 30. ARTS SUMMER PROGRAMS

Summer Camp at the Quick Center
Dates: July 10 – August 18
Age: Grades 1 – 12

This summer, the Quick Center celebrates its 28th season of Missoula Children’s Theatre Camps. This renowned children’s summer theatre program offers six, one-week sessions with a performance on the Friday evening at the end of each session. Children can enjoy bringing to life productions including Jack and the Beanstalk, The Tortoise Versus the Hare and Rapunzel. Another option for children at the Quick are Summer Camp Intensives that offer crash courses in cool, exciting subjects led by amazing local artists. ATHLETIC CAMPS AND CLINICS


Dates: July 3 – Aug 4
Age: 8 th grade

Sydney Johnson is in his 6th season as Head Coach of the Fairfield Stags. He and his staff direct the Sydney Johnson Basketball Camp with additional coaching from Fairfield players, local high school coaches and local Division 1, 2, and 3 players.

The ¶¶Òô»ÆƬapp women’s basketball team is happy to announce the opening of enrollment for the Joe Frager Basketball Camp. The only coach in MAAC history to have ten-straight winning conference seasons to begin a career, Frager enters his 10th season at the head of the Stags. Join him and his staff this summer at Fairfield.

Age: 5 – 22 years old

The Academy of Excellence aims to develop the complete player by focusing on the technical, tactical, physical and psychosocial aspects associated within the game of soccer. Each camp and clinic is coached by the ¶¶Òô»ÆƬapp Women's Soccer staff and top level youth coaches with proven expertise in developing youth soccer players. Youth soccer camp and high school prospects camp sessions are offered.

Additional youth and prospect camps for a variety of sports will be announced on throughout the spring and summer.
