Advanced Excel Skills Workshop- March 8

If your student has an internship this summer, or if they are graduating and will be joining the working world, encourage them to attend the Advanced Excel Skills Workshop on March 8 from 4 – 6 p.m. at the Dolan School , room 112.

Sponsored by the Dolan School of Business and the Economics Department, the workshop is designed for students who have a good working knowledge of developing spreadsheets, entering data, using formulas and creating graphs and diagrams. Participants will learn how to use pivot tables and v-lookups, and will complete a budget simulation. The workshop is designed for students who have completed the intermediate workshop and want more!

Megan Girolamo ’08 led the Intermediate Excel Workshop this semester and shared that she recommended the workshop series after she experienced a learning curve herself using Excel on the job after graduation, “It was after this learning curve that I decided I was going to sit down and design a course and curriculum for Excel. It was such a pleasant surprise to see how receptive and eager Fairfield Administration were. I am beyond grateful for those working tirelessly to best prepare each student for their internships and careers after graduation.”

Kathy Nantz, professor and chair of the Economics Department taught Introduction to Excel earlier this semester and Michael Puleo, assistant professor of Finance, will teach the Advanced Excel Workshop.

Students should register on OrgSync and bring their own laptop. Pizza and snacks will be served. This event satisfied a DSB PDS Level 3 event.
