Leadership Recognition Ceremony Accepting Nominations

It’s that time of the year again!  Nominations are being accepted for the four Jesuit Student Leadership awards that will be given out at the 9th Annual Leadership Recognition Ceremony on Tuesday, April 25 at 8 p.m. in the Quick Center for the Arts. Last year, for the first time, The Magis Award, The Cura Personalis Award, The Contemplatives in Action Award and The Men & Women for Others Award were awarded. The Collaborative Leadership Committee received such positive feedback after last year’s ceremony that they are being brought for another year.

Below are the updated descriptions for each of the Jesuit tudent Leadership Awards (please note that both individuals and groups of students are eligible to win each of these awards):

The Magis Award
This distinction is awarded to an individual or group of students who have made a positive impact on the campus community over the last year. This student or group takes pride in the responsibility of citizenship and seeks to create positive change.

The Cura Personalis Award
This award is given to the individual or group of students who have exhibited enormous growth in their personal and/or professional development over the last year. This student or group strives to be their best authentic self and is actively engaged in self-development.

The Men & Women for Others Award
An individual or group of students who have demonstrated leadership through their service and devotion to others over the last year receive this award. With humility, empathy and a sense of justice, this student or group strives to better the lives of others.

The Contemplatives in Action Award
This distinction is awarded to the individual or group of students who have demonstrated leadership through ingenuity and creativity within the past year. Not content with the status quo, this student or group seeks innovation that impacts themselves and the community.

To nominate a student or group for any of the awards, please fill out the nomination form found here. The selection process will begin after Spring Break, so please submit nominations by Friday, March 10, at 4:30 p.m. For more information about the Leadership Recognition Ceremony, including a list of last year’s winners, click here .
