“Money Talks” Seminar, Tuesday, October 6

Throughout the year, the Dolan School of Business Professional Development Series offers programs and seminars to give students a clear path for gaining the knowledge and skills that will complement their coursework, and help students find success in the working world. The Professional Development Series continues next Thursday, October 6, 2016 as the Dolan School offers a seminar entitled“Money Talks: Financial Planning for College Students and New Graduates.” The seminar will take place at 6:30 p.m. in the Kelley Center conference room.

Host of the seminar Scott Brenner, adjunct professor of Accounting and managing partner at Dylewsky, Goldberg & Brenner shares "We strive to make well rounded members of society through a variety of different programs offered at Fairfield. Financial literacy is something that is often overlooked in society and there are very few places for individuals to learn this unique skill set. The seminar helps to bring the importance of financial literacy to the forefront at Ƭapp and my hope is that this is the beginning of more financial literacy offerings."

Topics covered include saving for retirement, budgeting and managing debt. These skills are key as students shift from the classroom to the work place. The seminar aims to provide current students and recent graduates with an understanding of money management, and give them knowledge that will help them in the future.

Current students should register for this event through OrgSync and recent graduates should contact Sarah Bollinger , director of Internships and Professional Development. For current students this event satisfies a DSB PDS Level 4 requirement.

Can't make the seminar next week? Students will have another opportunity to participate on November 3, 2016 a t 6:30 p.m. in the Kelley Center conference room.
