Fairfield Ranks #2 in Northern Regional Universities by U.S. News & World Report

The 2017 U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges rankings has ranked ¶¶Òô»ÆƬapp #2 in Regional Universities in the North, among institutions that provide a full range of undergraduate majors and master’s programs.

The U.S. News & World rankings are based on several key measures of quality that include: Graduation and retention rates, assessment of excellence, faculty resources, student selectivity, financial resources, graduation rate performance and alumni giving.

“The faculty at ¶¶Òô»ÆƬapp are constantly innovating for today’s students and helping to create strong leaders of tomorrow,” said Lynn Babington, PhD, provost and senior vice president for academic affairs. “And they, along with our students, continue to prove they are of the highest caliber.”

“With the implementation of our Strategic Plan and our new Master Plan that includes new facilities and renovations, ¶¶Òô»ÆƬapp is taking a bold step into the future,” said Kevin Lawlor, executive vice president and COO. “When you combine our strong academics with the ongoing physical transformation of our campus and the technological innovation in our classrooms, it signals an exciting future for Fairfield.”

The U.S. News & World Report rankings are the latest in a string of accolades for the University.

As reported by , a recent international study by UK-based higher education consultant, Firetail, placed Fairfield on its rising ”Class of 2030” list, among a new generation of  “challenger universities,” positioned to become globally influential institutions over the next 10 to 20 years. ¶¶Òô»ÆƬapp is one of nine U.S. universities among the list of 20 “rising stars” in global higher education, which includes schools based in the U.K., Germany, Finland, Australia, Japan and South Korea.

In their latest ranking, USA Today and College Factual placed Fairfield among the best 10% of schools in the country and recognized several Fairfield academic programs among the nation’s top 5%. 2017 rankings for ¶¶Òô»ÆƬapp include:

  • Highest paid graduates for finance and financial management - # 7 out of 419
  • Most focused for finance and financial management - #12 out of 635
  • Highest paid graduates for business administration and management - #14 out of 725
  • Top ranked for nursing - #11 out of 507
  • Top ranked for accounting - #15 out of 607

College Factual bases their ranking on a combination of student body caliber, educational resources, degree completion and post-graduation earnings.
