Dolan Hosts Business Breakfast: The Only Constant is Change, Sept. 13

On Tuesday, September 13 from 7:30-9:00 a.m. , ¶¶Òô»ÆƬapp’s Dolan School of Business will be hosting a Business Breakfast—" The Only Constant is Change. " Management studies expert and Dolan School Adjunct Professor, Lisa Stafford, will lead the discussion on learning how to lead change in your organization.

Stafford will be joined by ¶¶Òô»ÆƬapp management professor, Dr. Catherine Giapponi, dean and professor of management, Dr. Donald Gibson and global HR executive, Susan Domotor, Principal, Organization Excellence Group. Discussion topics will include:

  • How can leaders best prepare their workforce to leap on board with change?
  • What are the best practices that companies can adopt around managing change?
  • What are the most effective leadership behaviors that drive successful change in organizations?
  • How does a leader deal with employee resistance to change?

Professor Lisa Stafford is a career and talent management consultant who works with clients to increase their personal marketing and leadership effectiveness and explore growth opportunities or career changes. As an adjunct professor at the Dolan School, Stafford teaches human resource courses and facilitates internships and networking opportunities for students.

Donald Gibson, PhD, dean and professor of management at the Dolan School of Business, teaches Leadership and Teams, Managing People for Competitive Advantage, Managing Human Resources, and Introduction to Management to undergraduate and graduate (MBA) students. He has served as program chair and executive director of the International Association for Conflict Management, a professional organization whose mission is to understand and improve conflict management in family, organizational, societal, and international settings.

Associate Professor of Management, Catherine Giapponi, ScD, teaches the business strategy capstone course at both the undergraduate and MBA levels. She also teaches Managing Non-Profit Organizations and Contemporary Topics in Management.

Through the Organization Effectiveness Group, Susan Domotor works with clients to assess organization effectiveness, design and facilitate leadership summits, design and facilitate training workshops and implement change. Domotor customizes best practice methods, taking into account business needs, size and available resources. She ensures that leaders are visibly driving the change, employees are engaged throughout the change effort and projects are implemented effectively on time and within budget.
