In addition to next Friday’s regular season opener, Fairfield men’s basketball will play an exhibition on Nov. 4 on campus at Alumni Hall against visiting Bridgeport. The preseason contest from George Bisacca Court tips off at 7 p.m.

Entering their sixth season under the direction of Head Coach Sydney Johnson, the Stags underwent one of the biggest turnarounds in all of Division I last year. Fairfield wrapped up the campaign at 19-14 (12-8 MAAC) with a trip to MAAC Championship Semifinals and an invitation to the CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament (CIT). With Preseason All-MAAC Second Team honoree Tyler Nelson ’18 leading the way, the Stags were selected for a fifth-place finish in the MAAC Preseason Coaches’ Poll.

Fairfield women’s basketball is preparing for its 10th season with Head Coach Joe Frager at the helm. The Stags went 16-15 (11-9 MAAC) last winter, competing on the postseason stage in both the MAAC Championship Quarterfinals and the Women’s Basketball Invitational (WBI). Led by Preseason All-MAAC Second Team pick Casey Smith ’17 and Preseason All-MAAC Third Team selection Kelsey Carey ’17, Fairfield has been tabbed to finish fourth in the MAAC Preseason Coaches’ Poll.
