Short-Term Study Abroad Opportunites for Students

¶¶Òô»ÆƬapp's Office of Study Abroad offers a wide range of study abroad opportunities for students including summer and faculty led options. Summer and faculty led study abroad options provide opportunities for students who are unable to commit to a full semester or academic year abroad. The Office of Study Abroad knows that experiencing learning in “a live setting” is life changing for students, and through these opportunities, studying abroad becomes more accessible to the broader audience.

During the summer, Study Abroad offers a variety of programs in over twenty locations and across a variety of academic disciplines. The summer programs range from two to eight weeks, and students have the opportunity to study in Florence, Aix-en-Provence, Galway, Shanghai, Buenos Aires, Sydney and more. The summer program application deadline is February 1, 2017.

Faculty Led Program is an additional short-term study abroad opportunity for students to participate in. Faculty Led opportunities increase students’ cultural understanding and support the Jesuit mission “to promote a sense of social responsibility, and making sure all students embrace and develop their full creative, intellectual potential.” The programs typically run 8-10 days. For the 2016-17 academic year, Faculty Led Programs include Russian History in St. Petersburg, Russia in May 2017 and Early Italian Renaissance in Florence, Italy in January 2017. Faculty Led programs are available to all sophomores, juniors and seniors who are in good academic and social standing at their home institution with a grade point average of a least a 2.8 on a 4.0 scale.

Students must attend one of the daily Office of Study Abroad Information Sessions before applying for a study abroad program.
