Paths to Success in Accounting - Nov. 17

There is never just one path to success — especially in the business world. On Thursday, November 17, 2016 at 7 p.m. at the Dolan School of Business Dining Room, professionals from the “Big 4” accounting firms will share with students their unique routes to success as part of the Dolan School’s Dean’s Lecture entitled “Paths to Success in Accounting.”

Featuring four panelists from Deloitte, EY, KPMG and PwC, panelists will be joined by student moderators who will lead a three-part discussion that introduces students to the panelists, presents a chance for general questions and concludes with a question and answer session from the audience.

“This is a great opportunity for our accounting students to discover different ways to succeed in this ever-changing profession,” shared Don Gibson, dean of the Dolan School. “The panelists, three of which are alumni, represent different levels of experience at the Big 4 firms, and can provide excellent exemplars for our students.” Tessa Criticos '03, MA ’04 of KPMG, Larry Dunn ’00 of EY, Maria Martorello of Deloitte and Evron Trim ’08, MA 09’ of PwC will comprise the panel.

Joe Pisano ’18, student panelist, shared "As a future accounting intern, I am interested in hearing how each firm is adapting their tax and audit practices as technology advances, and how that may or may not effect the work of employees."

Student panelist and senior Brie Tancredi, who will be starting a full time position with Deloitte after a year of graduate school at Fairfield, said “I am interested to learn where the panelists started in their respective companies and the journey they’ve taken to be in their current roles today."

The Dean’s Lecture is free and open to the public. Students should register on OrgSync.
