Fairfield Swimming Head Coach to be ESPN Analyst for Rio Olympics

¶¶Òô»ÆƬapp Swimming and Diving Head Coach Janelle Atkinson-Wignall will be a part of ESPN's coverage of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, as announced by the network.

ESPN Caribbean will be the official broadcaster of Rio 2016, and Atkinson-Wignall is part of an impressive list of Olympic experts who will report from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The network’s coverage will air on ESPN’s Caribbean television network and stream live on other platforms with the purpose of customizing the broadcast for the Caribbean fans.

"It's such a great opportunity to be a part of ESPN and the Olympics, especially as it pertains to my region," said the Jamaican native. "I look forward to sharing the screen with such high profile individuals as well as bringing recognition to ¶¶Òô»ÆƬapp and the ."

Originally from Kingston, Jamaica, Atkinson-Wignall is a two-time Olympian herself. She competed in the 2000 Sydney Games and the 2004 Athens Games, finishing fourth in the 400-meter freestyle and ninth in the 800-meter freestyle in Sydney. For the 2012 London Olympic Games, she returned to Jamaica and served as a swimming broadcast analyst for a show that aired throughout the entire Caribbean.

The 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil are now less than 100 days away as they are set to begin on August 5.
