“15’s Flashback”: Senior Week Kicks Off on Sunday

Next week, the campus will empty out except for the Class of 2015, who will enjoy Senior Week, the last week before graduation, and one last opportunity to come together as a Stag herd before they head off to the next step the future may hold.

This year’s Senior Week theme is 15’s Flashback , remembering the most classic moments and shows from the 1950s to the present.

To give the Class of 2015 a great send-off, a very busy Senior Week team of 47 volunteers from the Classes of 2016, 2017, and 2018, has planned eight memorable events that will take place both on and off campus, starting with a blessing at a special Mass this Sunday, May 10.

Claretta Mills ’16 and Richard Burke '17 are the Senior Week strategists who have worked closely with Colleen Wilson, program coordinator for Student Programs & Leadership Development, to oversee the team. "The Senior Week team has been working extremely hard over the past semester in anticipation for this week!" Wilson said. "They are all extremely excited to transform their events into this year’s flashback theme...I am incredibly proud of their dedication and desire to give back to the Class of 2015. I have no doubt that this week will be better than expected, and that the senior class will remember their hard work for years to come!"

Each event will have its own “flashback,” with TV shows, food and music based on the theme. The Commencement Ball, “A night so sweet, it can’t be beat,” will be at a surprise location off-campus and include a buffet dinner, cash bar, lots of dancing and favorite childhood candies like pix sticks and baby bottle pops.

Seniors will enjoy canoeing, swimming, rock climbing, mini-golf and more at the Senior Picnic, with a “Legends of the Hidden Temple” theme. Other events include the Mass for the Class of 2015, Senior Soirée, a Service Day in Bridgeport, Stag Night, and a Reception & Hypnotist Show.

The week ends with Family Dance, where family and friends are invited for unlimited hors d’oeuvres, drinks and live band entertainment in the BCC on the day before Commencement.
