Developing Women Leaders in Higher Education: New ACE Chapter on Campus

¶¶Òô»ÆƬapp recently formed a Connecticut chapter within the (ACE) Women’s Network to develop and support women in leadership roles in higher education.

More than 50 female faculty and staff from 20 departments across campus gathered at the chapter’s first luncheon in December. The group discussed possible topics for future gatherings, such as work-life balance, time management, leadership training, promoting non-traditional majors for women, career management, and much more.

“It was so wonderful to gather as a community of women from across campus. This chapter is excited to explore the different ways to support women at ¶¶Òô»ÆƬapp,” said Ophelie Rowe-Allen, director of Residence Life, and one of the organizers.

In addition to Rowe-Allen, the chapter is organized by Meredith Smith from the Office of Residence Life and Drs. Christine Siegel and Mary Frances Malone in the Academic Affairs Department (pictured l-r). Two ACE events will be held each semester.
