Nearly 100 alumni of the ¶¶Òô»ÆƬapp men’s and women’s basketball programs were on hand this past Saturday as the Stags concluded the home portion of their 2014-15 schedules with “A Celebration of Fairfield Basketball.” The event was a part of a doubleheader that brought more than 2,800 fans to Webster Bank Arena.

A mid-court ceremony recognized the 19 ¶¶Òô»ÆƬapp Athletics Hall of Famers in attendance, while an accompanying publication recapped some of the finest moments in Stags’ history and included commentary from past head coaches on their favorite Fairfield basketball memories.

In addition, Saturday served as Senior Day for the current Stags’ student-athletes with Felicia DaCruz ’15 and Steve Johnston ’15 recognized for their contributions to their respective teams.

On the court, the Fairfield women’s basketball team was edged by visiting Siena, 54-47, while the Stags’ men’s basketball club capped the day with a 57-43 victory over Saint Peter’s behind a career-high 26 points from Tyler Nelson ’18.

Both the men’s and women’s basketball teams will complete the regular season on the road this week.
