David Gregory Goes “Inside the Beltway" at OVF Lecture
Emmy Award-winning journalist David Gregory will provide a firsthand look at the latest Washington headlines and the working press that covers them at 8 p.m., Monday, September 22, 2014, at the Quick Center for the Arts. Gregory, former moderator of NBC News’ Meet the Press, will present the lecture “Inside the Beltway: Reflections on Politics & Media” as part of Open VISIONS Forum, the University’s signature lecture series. David Gregory is a veteran news reporter who has covered three presidential campaigns and was ’s Chief White House Correspondent for eight years prior to his Meet the Press duties. Washingtonian magazine named him one of Washington's 50 best and most influential journalists, labeling him the "firebrand in the front row" for his tough yet fair questioning at press conferences.
Introducing David Gregory will be Dr. Jim Simon, dean of the College of Arts and Sciences and professor of English. Following Mr. Gregory’s presentation, there will be an informal conversation and discussion with Dr. Michael Serazio, deputy director of Open VISIONS Forum and assistant professor of communication, and Dr. Philip Eliasoph, founder/moderator of Open VISIONS Forum and professor of art history.
