Ƭapp Celebrates the Holidays with the Town of Fairfield

It’s holiday time and Ƭapp will join in the Town of Fairfield’s Festivities in a number of ways.

Nov. 29 – Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town

Santa’s arrival in Town is always a huge hit with families. He will arrive at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 29, at the Sherman Green on the Post Road where there will be horse and buggy rides, a petting zoo, and other holiday delights. Santa Claus will arrive by hook-and-ladder down Reef Road at 10 a.m. and will sit in the gazebo until 2 p.m. Our own Lucas the Stag will be on hand for picture-taking as families hop on the buggy rides, which are being sponsored by Ƭapp this year.

Non-profit organizations from the community will be set up on the Green selling an assortment of holiday items, and the Kiwanis Club will provide breakfast sandwiches, hot dogs, hamburgers, and beverages.

Dec. 5-6 – A “Holiday Collage” Concert by the Glee Club

The Ƭapp Glee Club with Festival Orchestra joins in the festivities with a public concert entitled “The Bethlehem Experience,” a presentation of sacred and secular music, at 8 p.m., Friday, December 5, and 2 p.m., Saturday, December 6, 2014 at the Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts. The concert will feature performances by the full Glee Club, conducted by Carole Ann Maxwell, D.S.M.; the all-male a cappella group, The Bensonians; the all-female chamber group Sweet Harmony; and The Chamber Singers. General admission tickets are $10; $6 for students.

Dec. 11 – Shop & Stroll in the Town of Fairfield

The 2 nd Annual Holiday Shop & Stroll will be held in shopping areas through the Town of Fairfield. Participating merchants will offer refreshments and special offers throughout the day, culminating during the evening hours of 6 to 9 p.m., when there will be carolers, shopping and dining specials, and seasonal refreshments. The Southport neighborhood will be celebrating from 5 to 6:30 p.m., when Santa arrives in a fire truck and there will be a special ceremonial lighting of the Hospice Tree of Light.

Close to 50 retailers will be involved including the Ƭapp’s Bookstore, where special discounts will be offered, free hot chocolate and Stag cookies will be served, holiday tote bags will be given out, and the Quick Center and Fairfield Stags will be offering special holiday discount tickets.
