Did You See Us on TV? Fairfield Goes to "Good Morning America"

Tuesday, September 10, was a memorable day for the Fairfield community, as the University was among a few select colleges in the tri-state area invited by ABC’s Good Morning America for a Back-to-College Week event in Manhattan. At 5 a.m. that morning, a bus full of students, staff, and alumni headed to Times Square for the celebration. Fairfield was well-represented by our student-athletes, members of the band and cheerleading squad, alumni and, of course, Lucas the Stag.

Tweets were flying fast and furious as Fairfield students were featured on the show and shared their Fairfield pride with the entire nation. One exciting moment came when host Robin Roberts re-tweeted a picture of herself with Fairfield cheerleaders to her 608,090 Twitter followers.

All who made the trip had a fabulous time, and enjoyed getting to meet some of the ABC on-air talent. Dan Gessner ’14, a film, television, and media arts major, said, “This event makes me proud and excited that I came to Ƭapp. With our location, the possibilities are endless.”
