Jordan Greenfield Named NEILA Player of Week
¶¶Òô»ÆƬapp junior Jordan Greenfield  was tabbed the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) Player of the Week for his four-goal effort in the Stags 9-8 win over ECAC Lacrosse League foe Air Force. It marks the second time this season he has earned the award.
With the score tied 8-8 Greenfield accepted a pass from Colin McLinden and netted his fourth goal of the game, with 33 ticks left, to give the Stags a key league win. He was the only Stag to score multiple goals in the game and finished with a game-high four points.
Greenfield's first tally game midway through the first quarter, the third of the three unanswered goals to give the Stags a 3-1 lead. Greenfield netted his second5:36 later to answer an Air Force goal and put the Fairfield advantage back to two goals, 4-2. His final goal came in the fourth quarter, seven ticks in, scoring a Michael Roe pass, who won the face-off, to give Fairfield a 7-5 advantage at the time.
The four-goal effort from Greenfield marks the fifth time this season that he has recorded at least a hat trick. Through 12 games he is leading the team with 27 goals and 34 points and has connected for three game-winning tallies.
Greenfield and the Stags are 7-5 on the year and 3-2 in ECAC play. Fairfield will play road games on the next two Saturday's, Denver and Ohio State, and must win one to earn a berth in the ECAC Tournament. The Stags moved up two spots in the NEILA Weekly poll and are now ranked third.
